Form fields in this PDF

This PDF has fillable fields. Fill them in here; they're saved into the real form fields.

Pick a tool above, then click on the page where it should go. Drag items to move them; select one and drag its blue corner to resize.

Convenience tool, not a certified e-signature service. This tool places text and an image of your signature on a PDF. It does not add a digital certificate, identity check or audit trail. Some documents (for example certain legal, court, real-estate or government forms) may require a wet-ink signature or a specific e-signature provider, so check what the recipient accepts. Only sign documents you are authorized to sign.

How to use the Fill & Sign PDF

  1. Choose or drag in your PDF. It opens right here in your browser.
  2. If the PDF has fillable fields, fill them in the Form fields box that appears.
  3. To write anywhere else, click + Text (or Date, Check, X mark) and then click the spot on the page. Type directly into the box.
  4. Click ✍️ Signature, draw or type your signature, then click where it should go. Drag to move it and use the blue corner to resize.
  5. Click Download PDF to save the filled and signed copy.

How it works

The page is rendered with the open-source PDF.js viewer, and your additions are written into the file with the pdf-lib library, both running locally in your browser. Text you type is embedded as real PDF text in a standard Helvetica font. Characters outside that font (for example emoji or many non-Latin scripts) are placed as a sharp image instead, so they still appear correctly.

When the PDF has interactive form fields, your answers are written into those fields, so the recipient can still read them as form data. Turn on Flatten if you want the answers locked into the page.

Your signature is added as an image of what you drew or typed. That's the same thing a signature stamp or a scanned signature is: handy and widely accepted for everyday paperwork, but it isn't a cryptographic "digital signature" with a certificate.

Frequently asked questions

Is a signature added this way legally binding?
In the U.S. the federal ESIGN Act and most states' versions of the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act let electronic signatures count for many everyday documents, as long as everyone agrees to sign electronically. Some documents are excluded, though, such as wills and certain court or real-estate papers, and some recipients require a specific signing service. When it matters, ask the person or office receiving the document what they accept. This tool does not provide legal advice.

Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is read, edited and saved by your own browser. Nothing is sent to our servers, which is why it works even on slow connections once the page has loaded.

Why can't I edit the existing text in the PDF?
This tool adds new content on top of the page: text, dates, marks and signatures. Changing the original wording of a PDF is a different job that needs the source document.

My PDF is password protected. What can I do?
If you know the password and are allowed to edit the file, remove the protection first with our Unlock PDF tool, then open the unlocked copy here.

Will it work on my phone?
Yes. Tap a tool, tap the page to place it, and drag with your finger. Drawing a signature works best with the phone held sideways.
