Semester and cumulative GPA on the standard 4.0 scale.
Each letter grade is worth a number of grade points (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 and so on down to F = 0). Each course's points are weighted by its credits:
Cumulative GPA combines your previous GPA and credits with this semester's: (old GPA × old credits + this semester's grade points) ÷ (old credits + this semester's credits).
Does an A+ count as 4.3?
At most U.S. schools an A+ is capped at 4.0, which is what this calculator uses. Some schools award 4.3. Check your school's policy if that applies to you.
Do pass/fail classes count?
Usually not. Pass/fail courses typically add credits toward graduation but don't affect GPA, so leave them out.
What about weighted (honors/AP) GPA?
This calculator gives an unweighted GPA on the 4.0 scale. Weighting rules for honors and AP courses vary by school.
