Shrink a JPG or PNG's file size while keeping it looking sharp.
Drag the quality slider and click Compress to see the new file size instantly. Lower quality means a smaller file but more visible compression artifacts — 70-85% is usually a good balance for photos.
Will compressing my image reduce its quality?
Some quality loss is expected with JPG compression — that's the trade-off for a smaller file. The slider lets you preview the result so you can stop at the point where size drops significantly but quality still looks good.
Why is my PNG not shrinking much?
PNG is a lossless format, so it compresses less aggressively than JPG. If the image doesn't need transparency, converting it to JPG first (see the Image Format Converter) usually gives a much smaller file.
Is there a file size limit?
No hard limit is enforced, but very large images take longer to process since everything runs in your browser rather than on a server.
