Pull text and table-like data out of a PDF into a spreadsheet.
This tool looks at the horizontal spacing between text on each line to guess where one column ends and the next begins, splitting each line into spreadsheet cells. It works reasonably well on PDFs with clear table structure or columns, but won't perfectly reconstruct complex or merged-cell tables — always double-check the result.
Will this work on any PDF, or just ones with tables?
It works best on PDFs with clear table structures or well-organized text. A PDF that's actually a scanned image (rather than real text) may need OCR first — try the Image to Text tool on individual pages in that case.
Do formulas or formatting carry over?
No — a PDF only contains static text and layout, so the output is a plain spreadsheet of extracted values, which you can then format or add formulas to in Excel.
Is this reliable for complex, multi-column layouts?
Simple, well-structured tables convert most reliably. Very complex layouts with merged cells or multiple overlapping tables may need some manual cleanup afterward.
