Generate random UUID v4 identifiers, one or many at a time.
What is a UUID used for?
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit value used in software to identify records, sessions, or objects in a way that's virtually guaranteed not to collide with any other ID, even across different systems generating them independently.
Which version does this generate?
Version 4, which is randomly generated — the most commonly used version for general-purpose unique IDs in databases and applications.
Could two generated UUIDs ever be the same?
It's mathematically possible but so astronomically unlikely (roughly 1 in 5.3×10^36 for any two to collide) that it's treated as effectively impossible in practice.
