Convert iPhone HEIC photos into standard JPG files, one or many at a time.
iPhones save photos in the HEIC (HEIF) format by default. It's efficient, but many websites, Windows programs and older apps can't open it. This tool asks your browser to open each photo with its own built-in HEIC support, draws it onto a canvas and saves it as a standard JPG, entirely on your device.
Because the conversion relies on your browser and operating system, it works wherever HEIC is supported natively, which includes Safari on Apple devices. Your photos are never uploaded, and the original files are left untouched.
Why do my iPhone photos come in HEIC format?
HEIC is Apple's default photo format. It keeps similar quality at roughly half the file size of JPG, but many websites, Windows programs and older apps can't open it.
Which browsers can convert HEIC here?
This tool uses the HEIC support that's built into your own browser and operating system, so no extra decoder is downloaded. Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac handles HEIC. Some other browsers on recent systems can too. If yours can't, you'll see a message with other options.
Will converting to JPG reduce photo quality?
JPG is saved at high quality (92%), so the difference is very hard to see at normal sizes. As with any conversion between compressed formats, a tiny amount of detail can change.
Can I convert multiple photos at once?
Yes. Select or drop several HEIC files together, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.
How do I stop my iPhone from taking HEIC photos?
Open Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be saved as JPG. When you share photos by email or messages, iPhones also often convert them to JPG automatically.
